About Me

Mandy

I was born and bred in East Yorkshire and after many years on the move, in Britain and abroad, I now live near Filey in North Yorkshire.

My mum employed a celebrant to officiate at my dad's funeral, and we also used one for Mum's memorial service in 2021. After a long career in newspapers and magazines as a writer and editor, I decided I'd like to use my skills and experience to retrain as a celebrant.

Finding out what people want and need from a special occasion - be that a funeral, a wedding, a memorial, a baby naming or a vow renewal - is inspiring and heart-warming.

Writing and delivering ceremonies for the milestones in people's lives is a privilege. It means I can help celebrate them as individuals, with the freedom to create tailored occasions which fit exactly who they are.

We've all been to weddings and funerals that felt impersonal and templated, and which pay little heed to the uniqueness of those involved. Choosing a celebrant-led ceremony is a way to ensure that the beautiful details of someone's life, or a loving relationship, are right at the heart of an occasion, and that the people involved feel their day was perfect in every way.

FreddieIn my free time I enjoy long beach walks with my cockapoo Freddie, travelling off-the-beaten track and dancing.

If you'd like to talk about how I can contribute to your special occasion, please give me a call or email me and I'd be delighted to have a chat.
